My Mac Blush Palette

Mac blushes come in a huge variety of colours, just like their eyeshadows. Here is my Mac blush palette:
Top row, left to right: Immortal Flower, Well Dressed, Pink Tea
Bottom row, left to right: Tenderling, Blushbaby, Brit Wit
I have collected these blushes over a number of years and although I don't use them as much as I should, they are colours that are great to have in my collection. Here is my run down of the shades:

Immortal Flower is a limited edition shade that is a satin finish, meaning it is ever so slightly shimmery. To be honest, the shimmer here is barely detectable. I picked this up at a CCO (discount cosmetics outlet) and would describe it as a light corally peach. It is a light, but bright shade and I really should try it out more for Summer. It potentially leans too warm for my skintone, but perhaps with a light tan it'll suit me more.

Well Dressed is a popular light, cool pink shade. I like it a lot and appreciate the fine silver shimmer in this satin blush. This is a colour that I can easily wear everyday.

Pink Tea is a neutral pink beige. It is more muted than Well Dressed in the pan and the shimmer is less prominent. On my skin it builds up quickly to be a stronger, darker pink, but those with darker skin colours may not achieve the same result. I like this one because it can be built up gradually and looks natural. It is another limited edition blush, that is bound to be re-released one day, as Mac always tend to bring back shades in limited edition collections.

Tenderling is a light beige-toned peach which is a great colour for many skintones. The shade is very neutral and would look great with bolder eyes. The blush is a matte, so no sparkles or drama, just a nice wash of peach to the cheeks.

Blushbaby was the first Mac blush I bought. I would never advise people to buy from the Mac website without researching swatches of colours. This shade is a lot more rosy and pigmented than the website would have you believe. This isn't to say it isn't a lovely, universal colour, but as a Mac blush virgin, I did find it a bit strong for me, until I worked out how to apply it subtly with a light hand and a fluffy brush. I am pleased to have this in my colection and I think it'd suit many people.

Brit Wit is a cream blush by Mac. I love the fact that it is not a slippery consistency, yet melts into the skin when applied. I tend to use a stippling brush, but fingers work just as well. The colour is a mauve pink and the pigmentation is good. It can be blended out nicely and makes a good autumn/ winter blush.

What other Mac blushes should I try? I would love to hear your recommendations.

  2. So many beautiful colours! Sunset Beach from the Proenza-Schouler collection is the next blush on my to buy list. It's such a beautiful, bright colour and would be amazing for the warmer months. Too bad I'm from Australia and going into Winter though, haha. Lovely post :)
