Investment Pieces

Today's post is an ode to those beautiful items in my collection that I treasure and adore. I am not suggesting that you have to spend lots of money on high-end purchases to enjoy using make-up. But if you do spend out on luxury brands, I believe it is important to appreciate and love what you have. These are some of the pieces that I see as 'investments': products that were well worth the spend and will be enjoyed for a long time.

The Nars 'Narsissist' palette
The Narsissist palette was highly sought after on release. It was expensive, but worth it. The shadows are beautiful and blend smoothly. There is no chunky glitter, just sophisticated shimmer. I use the colours to the left more, but for evening events, the right side is perfect.
Dior Blush in Rose Libertine and lipstick in Grege
These are the only Dior products I own (along with the BB creme!)and I'm really happy with them. I do own some other amazing higher end lipsticks and blushes, but these two are just stunning. Grege is such a lovely, wearable peach nude, and Rose Libertine is perfect for cool-toned skin; its subtle silver shimmer disperses seamlessly across the cheeks to give a radiant look.

Sony A5000

Finally, I had to include my new camera. This is a purchase I did not take lightly and researched a lot before I decided on a compact system camera as opposed to a compact or a DSLR. For my needs this is perfect and I look forward to improving my photography skills over time. At the moment I'm in my element, playing around with the settings and practising with the manual controls.

If you want to know more, I have posts featuring the items below:

What would you label as your 'investment pieces'?

  1. I am a huge fan of 'Dior' lipsticks. 'Chanel' is also a really nice investment piece for makeup, if you're ever looking for anything new :) Nice post!

  4. The Dior blusher is such beautiful colour, it looks divine! Do you think it's worth the money? Even though it's about 5 times more expensive than the sleek blushes? x

    1. I would say that as a special treat, it is worth it, however I know I don't need to spend that much! If you can afford to buy one special blush, this would be a perfect option. If not, Sleek blushers are pretty good. x
