Review: Aussie Miracle Dry Shampoo

I picked this relatively new dry shampoo from Boots about a month ago. I love Aussie as a brand, especially their Three Minute Miracle Conditioners. The products smell delicious and I was thrilled to see that they had branched out into the dry shampoo market.

I chose the Mega Instant version for normal to greasy hair. It is also available in a formulation for coloured hair and one to give volume.

The price is really competitive (little more than £3 when I picked it up), so I felt I had nothing to lose.

The smell is lovely, just as expected. It is sweet and fruity, but not chemically or that horrible, pungent fake 'clean' smell that I've found with some other brands at a similar price point. I was also really pleasantly surprised with the 'wet' formula that dried down to give some volume and take away the flat look my fine hair takes on after only a day or two. It felt nice to use and I was really pleased.

Now the big negative! I was actually planning on taking some before and after pictures, but as I started to apply the shampoo into the roots of my hair, the spray stopped dead in its tracks! There was nothing I could do to resolve this issue, I tried for a good five minutes, but I am now left with nearly a full can of product that I can't use.

Of course this could just be a fault in the can I picked up, so I may try again with this product. But I might not bother. My favourite dry shampoo (and I've tried many on the high street) is the Philip Kingsley One More Day which I tend to pick up when I can get it on offer. I like that it's not heavily scented and it feels light in the hair. Maybe sometimes it is worth paying a bit more?

Have you tried any of the Aussie dry shampoos? What did you think?
