Things That I'm Currently Enjoying (March-April 2016)

Rose gold rings:

I purchased some beautiful, delicate rose gold rings from an Etsy shop called Nikki Stark Jewellery over the last few months. They are handmade, made to order pieces which can be stacked and combined. They go with any outfit because they are minimalist and pared down. I love that you forget you're even wearing them because they are so lightweight despite being real gold.
The rings were bought separately and on both occasions they came within a week and were displayed in a sweet little box with a nice personalised message from Nikki. I'd recommend this designer- you can click the link above to browse her store.

The Divine Comedy 'Commuter Love':

I've spoken quite a lot about The Divine Comedy before and my love for discovering Hannon's back catalogue is ongoing. I'm trying to drip feed myself with it because I like to spend quality time listening and re-listening to his masterpieces bit by bit. I recently purchased the albums Casanova and Fin de Siecle which I am really enjoying. Neil Hannon has a show-stopping voice which wouldn't be out of place in the West End. His lyrics are full of wit and depth and he takes influences from various genres and elements of popular culture. A new album is apparently in the pipeline which is very exciting. 'Commuter Love' is a track from Fin de Siecle which tells the story of unrequited love on public transport. It is romantic and somewhat heart-wrenching, yet still has a touch of The Divine Comedy's signature observational comedy about it.

This mascara means business. It is an amazing volumizing product that packs on the pigment and gives a false lash look. I've re-purchased recently after using it for about 3 months, so it had to make an appearance in this post.
La Roche Posay Thermal Spring Water spray:

I own a few make-up sponges, including the Beauty Blender and the Real Techniques one. I know that they can give a superior foundation application, particularly for drier skin, but I didn't ever really use them on a day-to-day basis because our bathroom is on the ground floor and it took time to wet the sponges- time I just don't have at 6.30am on a work day. Then I saw someone on Youtube using a water spray. Why hadn't I thought of this genius solution? Now I can give my sponges a quick spritz in the morning and go!

It by Alexa Chung:
For ages I've had this lovely-looking hardback in my collection and I've recently been enjoying flicking through the fashion imagery and quirky doodles. This is a great book to pick up to get an insight into model and presenter Alexa Chung's fashion inspirations and some personal anecdotes. It is light-hearted and Chung's personality comes through in her writing. I'm not a mega fan of hers, but I do like her and her style for a bit of escapism. This is a nice coffee table book.
Impractical Jokers:
The Impractical Jokers are a comedy troupe called The Tenderloins comprised of Sal Vulcano, Joe Gatto, Brian 'Q' Quinn and James Murray. The premise of the show is that these long-time friends dare each other to complete embarrassing challenges. Failure to complete these tasks leads to 'punishments'. I love these guys, especially Sal who is adorable!

Q and Sal have a podcast called 'What Say You' which I also have mentioned before and love to tune into.

Ok, so this isn't strictly eating, but this is one of life's little indulgences that I enjoy! I generally drink decaff breakfast tea (PG Tips if you're nosy), but a good pick-me-up is this lovely, spicy milky tea. The new formula is much akin to the Starbucks Chai, which has a warming kick to it. The old Tassimo Chai was a little more mild and had a two-pod process, whereas with this one you just pop in one pod, run the hot water through it and it's done! It's sweet, toasty and great to wake you up on a disgustingly early weekday morning.

I've just seen that they are rated really low on the Tassimo site, but I would urge Tassimo machine owners to go against the masses and try this out!
On my shopping list currently is the Laura Mercier Radiance Baked Matte powder highlighter. I've heard that it's incredible and natural. I'm not into the business of using those glittery, look-at-my-cheekbones highlighters that lots of beautiful ladies can pull off. I like to be subtle and this looks perfect for that. I don't need it AT ALL, but I'd love to try it! Maybe it'll be a cheeky purchase when I visit Selfridges soon...
